The Year in Pictures

Favourite photographs from 2016.

I know, I know, I’m a little bit late with this whole ‘2016 favourites’ post, seeing that we’re suddenly in February already! But hey, better later than never eh? Last year I concentrated mostly on building the commercial side of my photography business, but I still managed to fit in some pretty portrait, couple and family sessions, and even the odd wedding!

This year I’m hoping to shoot more and more down here in Cornwall (It’s just too gorgeous here to ever leave!), but I do have some fun things booked in for London as well. Anyways, without further ado, farewell 2016, you were quite challenging in many ways, but clearly, you also provided some utterly beautiful moments!

Sarah & Marc | Holbeck Ghyll, Lake Windermere

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah…….  Brides really don’t come lovelier than this lady whom we have so much love for!  Such a bubble of fun and loveliness!

Team bunnies Jenn, Natty, Kelly & Amy traveled up to Lake Windermere in the Beautiful Lake district on the day befor the wedding of Sarah & Marc and stayed over at a country pub/hotel and microbrewery close to the venue, with studio buddies Campbells Flowers whom were providing masses of gorgeous blooms and venue styling for Sarah and Marc.

The morning’s hair and makeup preparations took place in a cottage within the grounds of their stunning venue Holbeck Ghyll with breathtaking views across Lake Windermere.

It was a busy morning with a total of 13 lovely ladies for hair and 11 for makeup.  Sarah’s bridesmaids opted for simple side sweeping half up do’s which complemented their Plum coloured ‘Ghost’ bridesmaids dresses beautifully,  whilst Sarah opted for vintage inspired ‘S’ waves.  She looked a picture of elegance and beauty in her custom made wedding gown and floor length veil.

Photographer Andy Hook joined us bright and early and captured the action beautifully.

We’re so thankful to Sarah and Marc for sending us a collection of Images from the day and it’s clear to see it really was a spectacular day.

We thank Sarah & Marc for their kind words (below) and wish them both a long and happy marriage. It was such a huge honour, and a pleasure, to be a part of such a magical day.

Now that we’ve had time to recover from the wedding, myself and Marc just wanted to pop an email over to say an enormous thank you to your fabulous selves and all of the team at Jenn Edwards Artistry, and send you over some of the photos of you guys in action, and of course the finished product, all taken by our wonderful photographer Andy Hook.

It was such a wonderful experience working with you both, and of course the rest of the team. From the minute that I first stepped into your studio with my mum, I felt like a princess! Glass of bubbly in my hand, you worked your magic on me each time we met, from the first trial to the big day.

Having recently lost a lot of weight in the run up to the wedding, I still felt very self conscious when we first met. Both of you ladies made me feel truly beautiful and gave me the confidence to float through my big day with my head held high.

Plenty of giggles to be had, but still true professionals and great talents. With an anything is possible attitude, flawless application, and makeup and hair that stayed in place effortlessly through tears, rain, dancing and of course copious glasses of fizz.

At Jenn Edwards HQ you are all so beautiful inside and out! The attention to detail you show to your work and your care for myself as a bride, and all of the ladies who sat in front of your mirrors that day, not just visually, but emotionally, was astounding, we will all remember it forever with the fondest of memories.

Thank you all so much.

Sarah & Matt | Constellations, Liverpool

Sarah and Matt got married on the 16th July 2016 in Liverpool. Their big day was held at Constellations – one of the most amazing venues we have seen recently! The venue is made up of a regenerated recycling yard, which now functions as a huge garden and bar, plus a warehouse space. It was perfect for a relaxed wedding day, with plenty of opportunities for photos in front of the city’s street art and some beautiful architecture.

We helped Sarah and her bridal party, which included her three bridesmaids, mum and sister-in-law (to be) get ready at Hope Street Hotel – a short walk away from the wedding venue. We love working with brides and their friends and family as it always makes for a joyful and energy filled morning! It was particularly fun working with Sarah’s niece who was flower girl for the day. She had her hair done and a tiny bit of make-up, but was insistent that she have some red lipstick…..we eventually persuaded her to try a more subtle pink though!

Sarah opted for a relaxed hairstyle, which was decorated with a brightly coloured floral crown. Her finished look was to die for as she left in her backless lace dress to meet her husband to be.

It looks like the couple had a blast of a day in this fantastic city and venue, and we are very jealous that they have just returned from an epic honeymoon travelling around Vancouver, Seattle and Mount St Helens.

We also loved meeting Guilia from On Love and Photography, who kindly let us use the fantastic images from the day.

Abby & Conor | Grays Court, York

Abby and Conor are originally from Aberdeen, but live together in Leeds, and chose to get married in beautiful York. Grays Court made the most stunning venue – such a gorgeous building inside and out, set in the shadow of York Minster.

Abby is such a beauty and was an absolute pleasure to work with.   Jenn, Natty, Amy and Kelly  joined Abby, her Mum, and three bridesmaids at her wedding venue Grays Court for the mornings hair and makeup preparations.  It was a relaxed and fun morning and even though the odd rain cloud lingered outside and jeopardized Abby’s hopes for an outdoor ceremony she remained in good spirit.

Abby’s wedding dress was custom made by one of our favourite designers ‘Kate Beaumont’ and I think you’ll agree she looked incredibly beautiful.
