OK, I’m going to let you in on a lil’ industry secret here, kids – when a new collection, product or project is announced, the people behind it usually have an accompanying press release. It’s a little bit from the makers, or at least those hired by the makers, to explain more behind the newness and detail why it’s so good, and thus why you should totally feature it. It’s always nice to get a better understanding of these things, but – and this is where the secret comes in – they’re usually fairly perfunctory. This collection has turned that on its head, and then some. (This is about as far as I can take that phrase – because if you turn more than on its head, do you just start going back to the beginning?) I’ve never had goosebumps and a lump in my throat so intensely after reading any two paragraphs before, never mind from a press release. Ladies and gentlefolk, welcome to the ‘Dawn of A New Age’ collection from the incredible Daughters of Simone.
Ash and Brit, the tours de force behind the legendary bridal brand, have knocked it out of the park with this latest collection. Take the trademark bohemian vibes, the famed gorgeous fabrics, and then let your heart do the talking…
THIS COLLECTION WAS ALL HEART, WITH PLENTY OF RE-DRAFTING, DOUBT, AND RISK. ARTISTICALLY, WE WERE INSPIRED BY THE DEFIANCE ILLUMINATED BY THIS GENERATION IN THE LAST YEAR. WOMEN HAVE BEEN CUTTING THEIR HAIR, HITTING THE STREETS WITH BOOTS AND SIGNS, AND EXPERIENCING A BURST OF POWER THAT THEY, AND NONE, HAS EVER SEEN EXCEED THIS FAR IN ALL OF OUR HISTORY.
These dresses feature heavy embellishment fit for the queen of a newer, brighter day. Bold lace appliqué, thick rope trims and brass sequins mix effortlessly with soft pleating and pearls. They embody a spirit of armour and emblazoned pride. With this collection, there’s no fitting you into a mould of what femininity has to look like in bridal, but instead a free space of what femininity can look like in bridal.
IT’S CREATING WHAT YOU WANT TO WEAR, WHAT YOU WOULD NEVER HAVE THE BALLS TO WEAR, WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE THEM IN…PROUD AS HELL AS THEY MAKE THE WALK.
See, goosebump-y, right?! Well, with a write up like that, can you even imagine if the dresses weren’t any good? Luckily that’s not a worry here – each dress is an absolute beauty, celebrating strength, passion, and – a strong passion of mine – good f’ing design.
