New Wave Lovin’ for Modern Romantics

Hey, I love sparkle as much as the next kid – actually, that’s a lie, I love sparkle WAY more than the next kid, move aside kiddo – but for those who want to glimmer without going overboard, this season especially may make you feel a little on your own. In a sea of super sequins and chunky glitter, we want to remind you that there’s still a perfect way to celebrate maximally while dressing minimally.

And for this, we introduce you to ‘New Wave’, the new collaborative collection from Flossy & Dossy and Modiste Accessories. These two powerhouses have come together again to bring us a a gorgeous collection of sleek lines, flowing fabrics and sharp silhouettes that offers bridal ‘a direct route from New York loft to disco’. Frankly, how the hell can you refuse?

If the prospect of layers of tulle or tight corsets was the first thing that panicked you upon your engagement, let me introduce you to your new best girl gang:

Firstly, meet Georgia, a firm favourite featuring a cross over front, mini belt, bell sleeves and a front slit to die for – aka all the good parts of the flower power era, but less fuss. Next, meet Karisa super chic and free flowing kimono-style gown. Continuing the sleek freak ultra-glam silhouettes, we have the Jade with its stunning batwing sleeves, and the Gabriel, with a fierce one-shoulder drape (strapless like you’ve neither ever seen before nor dared hope imagine it exists this cool). Flossy & Dossy have also created the ultimate glam gown in the Lizzy, guaranteed to make you shine like the star you are (I know you came here for wedding inspiration, but you’re also going to go away with some life encouragement too, ok?) with it’s all over beading and plunging open back.

And Modiste Accessories have developed the perfect accessories to sit alongside it. Showing up without showing off, the minimalist bridal designs are all heavily inspired by the spirit of the city that never sleeps. Expect crowns worthy only of true New York divas, as well as ’70s length necklaces worn low at both the back and front. Sharp lines and sleek finishes carry through to this collection and are evident in the gorgeous pieces, all brought to life with mixes of Swarovski crystals and metallic rose gold pearls, biccones, chains, and stardust glitter beads. Holler at your golden gals – the Bianca bugle bracelet, headpiece and necklace. Say hello to the silver squad – the Houston ponytail wrap, Angelica hair vine, Tina V necklace and Houston bar necklace. Last but not least (there’s literally no losers when the collections are as good as these), represent your rose gold girls – the Hutton headpiece and necklace, and Jerry necklace. These were all finished off by hair that went big on the dancefloor-ruling barnets, whether it’s loose or crazy, or the ultimate ’70s side sweep. We’re talking volume, and power, with sleek pony tails too.  Slick on your shiniest gloss and finish with a touch of soft glitter – and you’re ready to rule the world.

Playful and powerful, we love this inspired collection from Flossy & Dossy and Modiste Accessories here at Way Out Wedding – welcome to the New Wave, baby.
