Not only have Fringe and Fray got an awesome name for their Macramé business, but they’ve also got an incredible talent for styling too.
This wonderful bohemian inspiration mixes the free spirit of the seventies with tropical leaves and vintage bridal wear all in a rustic setting. Proving you truly can have a day your way.
Camilla Andrea Photography has really brought the concept to life with her captures and I’m sure you’ll be pinning before you know whats hit you.
Camilla the Photographer: Taking inspiration from all things 70’s and laid back. We pushed ourselves to come up with a really eclectic mix of elements that we all fan girl over.
For this shoot our key points of inspiration came firstly in the shape of the awesome Macramé pieces. Macramé was hugely popular in the 70s and has seen a resurgence in the past couple of years, fibre artist Jenny Collier from Fringe & Fray wanted to create a bohemian 70s vibe using her macrame pieces which was our main starting point, we also had other talented artists involved including Mia Sylvia who is a textile artist, creating hand made and naturally dyed ethical fabrics and fashions. Concentrating on tie dye effects on the fabrics as a nod to our 70’s vibe.
Our location, The Crypt at St Andrews Hall in the centre of Norfolk, UK is a great little secret venue in the form of medieval ruins topped with a glass roof with the outside finding it’s way in with lots of ivy and brambles cascading down the crumbly walls. We wanted to show couples not to let their venue restrict their theme, Just because we had a medieval venue didn’t mean we had to go along the lines of a rustic vintage theme. You can think outside of the box!
We were keen to use bold pops of colour to go with a tropical theme and the oversized palm leaves were a must, giving us all the feels of someplace much warmer. On our shoot day we couldn’t stop laughing that we had picked the day of England’s freeze over and the snow was never ending and making its way inside the building, a massive contrast to our tropic plans!
